As I'm feeling new sunshine on my face I've prayed about returning to writing Soul Scents. I don't feel the LORD has given me the green light yet, but as I'm processing I wonder about the need of the readers. I checked my website today, and the Soul Scents subscriber list has continued to grow even though I haven't written the devotionals for three years. That encouraged me, but also made me question further my next course of action.
I'd love to have response to any or all of the following questions. You can comment here or email me privately:
- Was Soul Scents timely for a season, or is there still a need/place for it today?
- Was the weekly format part of what helped Soul Scents strike a chord with readers and therefore a necessity for my returning, or would once a month still meet a need if I am unable to keep up with the weekly schedule?
- How would you feel if I invited guest authors in from time-to-time instead of being the sole author?
- Soul Scents has always centered on relationship with God--our longing to know Him and the ways He reaches to us. Is there a particular topic/need/issue that fits within that general parameter that you wish someone would address?
- With the advent of e-books, there has also been some discussion of my formatting an e-devotional that could be placed on kindle/phones, etc. using specific devotional series from the past that seemed to especially strike a chord with readers. Would something like that meet a need?

I always enjoyed reading your soul scents devo's.
It's funny how people continue to subscribe to something inactive isn't it? I started a new blog... sent out an email to tell all my subscribers so they could follow if they wanted to. Very few followed. I then posted on my old blog that I was moving. Yet people kept subscribing. Funny how that happens!!!

We've only today become facebook friends, and I found your Soul Scents on one of the webpages listed on fb. It seemed like a great theme, so I signed up (I hope we can still get the old messages, even if you are not able to write new ones!) :-) Do just as the Lord leads you, dear sister, and it will be what is good and right! Mom2seven, been praying consistently about this. We will see what the Lord does! And you can read some of the old stuff by looking in the archives at the website. :O) Not all of it is there, but probably at least two years worth of entries!
i looked forward each week the your devotion. there were many times durring that season of my life that the Lord used your writing to speak to my heart. i have missed it to say the
least. however, i understand different seasons and pray that you will be able to clearly understand what He wants you to do! be blessed!
Thank you for your sweet comment, Jenny. I'm praying a lot about how to use my resources, time and money. As I'm coming out of the difficult three years when I had to let Soul Scents go, new things are opening up at the same time I still have old responsibilities, like homeschool. My heart wants to return to Soul Scents, but I'm waiting for clear direction. It's such a blessing to me to know it was a blessing to YOU!
